Saban won his final game as the head coach of the Crimson Tide against Smart and the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship last season.
Smart took a moment to speak to the media about Saban’s impact on his career which began at Alabama in 2007.
“Nick’s been great,” Smart said according to AL.com. “He’s been wonderful for my career. He’s a great man. He’s a leader in college football, he continues to do that. He’s been very supportive of me and my family.”
