In the championship game, Mathurin continued to make his presence felt, contributing four points, two assists, and a steal to secure the victory for Team Jalen. His contributions extended beyond scoring, as he showcased his improving all-around game and engaged in friendly banter with fellow players, adding an element of entertainment to the event.

Bennedict Mathurin Taunts Jaden Ivey

During Game 1 of the Rising Stars competition, Bennedict Mathurin of Team Jalen engaged in some spirited banter with his opponent, Jaden Ivey of Team Tamika. The Indiana Pacers wing seized an opportunity to taunt Ivey after drawing a shooting foul, expressing confidence in his abilities even in the context of a friendly exhibition game.

"Even in the Rising Stars game, you can't guard me," Mathurin was heard saying to Ivey, showcasing his competitive spirit and playful demeanor on the court.

Adding an extra layer of excitement to the moment, Mathurin attempted to up the stakes by betting $25,000 with opposing forward Paolo Banchero that he would convert both free throws. Despite his bold wager, Mathurin missed both shots from the charity stripe, falling short of his financial gamble.

Nevertheless, Mathurin quickly rebounded from the disappointment, delivering an impressive performance overall. He tallied 18 points throughout the game and ultimately redeemed himself by sinking a clutch fadeaway game-winner, propelling Team Jalen to the final round of the competition.
