Ontario Reign sign Jacob Ingham to a one-year AHL contract

Since signing his entry-level contract with the Kings in 2020, Ingham has spent time in the ECHL with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, the AHL with the Ontario Reign, as well as a cup of coffee with the LA Kings on the taxi squad in the 2021-2022 season. The last time we saw Ingham was at the Rookie Faceoff tournament last year in September before he proceeded to miss the rest of the season with an injury. According to Reign insider Jared Shafran, Ingham is expected to be fully healthy and ready for the upcoming season.

With Erik Portillo and David Rittich penciled in as the goaltending duo for the Reign, it most likely means Ingham will start the year in the ECHL with the Swamp Rabbits. With Ingham missing the entire 2022-2023 season and not guaranteed any playing time with the Reign, it makes sense for the 23-year-old netminder to get some game action and development time in the ECHL. Any injury or call-up to the Kings for Rittich or Portillo, I would expect Ingham to get called up to the Reign.
